Asbestos is a mineral with thin, fibrous crystals and are known to have some form of toxicity. A condition associated with asbestos is mesothelioma. It is said to be a cancer caused by over exposure to asbestos, usually people affected by this condition are those with jobs that expose them to asbestos, family members who wash the clothes of these type of workers are also at risk.
