It’s time to say bye-bye to good old 2007 and give 2008 a welcome blast. We have different ways of welcoming the New Year, fireworks, booze, party, dancing and if you work at a call center like us then you’ll be working (bummer) or you could go NCNS but you didn’t get that idea from me (winks).

I just thought I would make an accounting of the year that was and for entertainment’s sake I’ll even try to remember every bit of detail. It’s during moments like these that I wish I’ve religiously kept a real journal instead of just encrypting it in my gallery of thoughts. While it’s a visual gallery up there, it’s jumbled sometimes and so dates become an issue.

Never mind, I’ll just make a summary. Hope you guys enjoy reading it nonetheless

Places I’ve visited: Kawasan Falls, Argao, PortoFino, Bag-ong Banua Island (and other islands somewhere in Mactan), Cebu Beach Club, (did I miss any place?)

Lessons Learned:

On God: Everyone believes in God consciously or otherwise no matter what they conceive God to be. Personally, I believe in God and His Love and His Gospel although I’ve pretty much yielded to the desires of the flesh and followed the ways of the world. Sin and guilt are traps to keep us away from God but I believe in Jesus and how he washed us clean with His precious blood and how He’s risen victorious. He paid for my salvation, for our salvation, we just have to take it. (this is not a license to sin purposely though).

On Love: Love with all honesty and without pretense. When angry, bite your tongue to keep yourself from blurting out hurtful things that could ruin your relationship. Apologize and mean it if you’re at fault. Don’t forget to kiss and say “I love you” no matter how busy the day is.

On Family: Your family will always be your family no matter what you do and where you go. They are the core unit that you can always fall back on.

On Friends: Be the friend you want to have. Spend time and laugh a lot.

On Career: No matter what career you choose, no matter how much you love it; there will always be dry spiels. Stay focused; remember that everything is just a phase. Go on a vacation, you deserve it.

On Pain: If it doesn’t kill us, it’ll make us stronger. Turn all the pain into positive energy and you’ll be surprised.

On Fitness: What fitness?? hehehe

Well I have always wanted to be mermaid and MJ made that possible hehehe this is the closest thing I can get to on eI guess ^_^

I have recently just taken an interest in playing poker and being an amateur, I did my own research so I can develop my playing skills. Wena has always appeared delicate and childish.  She giggles and laughs at the silliest things and like me, decision making is often painstaking.  I think we should both get a book on how to be decisive but then again we wouldn’t be able to decide which book it would be.  Behind the facade of merriment though is a deep sadness and pain that have just become more obvious to everyone recently.  What’s not so obvious is the amount of courage and strength she has.  The past few days made me realize that her fortitude is greater than most people.

I don’t like sad events and tear jerking moments so as much as possible I steer clear of that with her. I try to make her smile and laugh as much as I could if only for a moment.  I see no sense in talking about it since talking makes you remember and remembering hurts like hell.  I don’t talk to her about it and knowing her, she wouldn’t want any unsolicited probing.  So this is my way of letting her know that she’s one of the bravest persons I know. I’m proud of how she’s grown in a matter of days, proud of how she’s taking care of herself and that I’m always here even if I have dada.

Life has a way of bringing out the divine power of the human spirit so that we can carry on during times of great pain and loss.  It is that spine that we never thought we got.  Like a reservoir of untapped energy just waiting for the time when our regular everyday energy fails us.  At least we have time as our ally, time heals all wounds till it will no longer hurt.

Wena and I have long started the hobby of collecting pens and we go for all sizes and colors. We have pink pens, lavender, short, slim, metallic, just name it. She loves to write and I love the thought of writing but I don’t usually have the motivation to do so. Even if you don’t really have a great penmanship like me, a good pen will most definitely make your writing more legible. I was really amazed when I discovered promotional pens online. It’s a haven for people who want to add to their already wide stash.

In my previous post I said that I’m not all too perked up about this christmas, well I would like to take that back. I took the time to recall my past 2 christmas because that’s only how far I can distinctively remember. December 05 I was hit with chicken pox and the doc said mine was one of the few severe cases she’s seen in her life. I only have 2 scars to remind me of it (thank God) but without any exaggeration, the zits on my face were gigantic and filled with puss that looked like it’ll explode any minute! The biggest was the size of a 5 centavo coin right on my forehead. I still get chills when I remember those days. I got zits all over my body and I mean all over, little did I know then that even the insides of my ears and mouth and yes even my genitals were well within reach. I was more concerned with my face though, I didn’t follow a strict regime just so chicken pox could destroy my clean, pleasant face. I was ugly, angry and pathetic. I thought God was punishing me for my vanity.

Dec 06, I lost my phone (it has so many pictures of me) and ended my first ever serious relationship (20 months running). On top of those 2 I also lost something really important but I’m not talking about it. I’m just going to talk about the stabbing pain I felt at that point in my life. I didn’t know until then that such pain ever existed. Nothing in my life ever prepared me for it. I realized that no education could ever prepare us for real life’s lessons. That we have to learn it on our own without any manuals or instructors to turn to. Wouldn’t it be nice if there is actually a curriculum that deals with real life scenarios? Maybe people would have a better way of channeling their anger or pain and the world would be a better place. My responsibility towards my family is what kept me from just quitting everything. Friends also make a sturdy support system during your lowest. I lived one day at a time and that’s why I’m here now. I didn’t think of tomorrow because when you’re at your lowest and darkest, tomorrow is just a black canvass.

Our TR training is finally over and all 10 of us are now certified to take TR calls. I’m happy with the fact that we all passed our first 2 MSV calls! It’s my off today but some of us have to work tomorrow huhu it’s such a bummer coz I’m so used to weekends off. I don’t know if I should be thankful that the 25th is my day off from work. Yes it’s christmas and all but I’m not all too excited about it at all, it’s just like any other day for me. It’s the New Year that I’m looking forward to because it also is our 8th month together (dada & moi) plus I can feel that there’s so much good stuff coming for everyone next year.

Looking back, It’s amazing how a person’s life can change in a year. I remember how awful last christmas was for me. I was at my lowest and I never even expected I would end up with someone as wonderful as dada. Wena, Mik and Riza were the only people who knew what was going on and I don’t think I have told them how I appreciate the sort of strengh that they represented then. Well I would like to officially thank you guys for the friendship! This is our 2nd christmas since we befriended each other and my 1st with dada.

It has been a difficult year for most of us but I’m glad we’re still friends.

The spanish speaking country Costa Rica has consistently dazzled me with its beautiful people and beautiful landscape. If you’re a beach person, wether you surf, swim or just there to chill, this country has so much to offer. Costa Rica News says that warm water all year round and wide, isolate beaches magnet tourists from all over the globe. I say it is also because a world-class surfing hotspot can be found there that people keep coming back. Saw this samsonite bag at an iStore for any notebook computers when I checked on the tag whew! it was costly but my friend said they’re worth it as they’re durable and is proven to last long like 5 or so years.  The one that I like is colored pink (as usual) so girly girly, there’s a black one too … looks so professional and business like. Am thinking of getting one as I dont really like the bag that came with with my notebook.

Getting a car is everyone’s waited for moment. It’s every son and daughter’s birthday wish and it’s one of the biggest gift anyone can give. Even buying a used car needs some kind of planning ahead of time. If we have all the money in world, shopping for a ride would not take up this much preparation. Reality though is that, most of us don’t basically have the savings to purchase a vehicle so we end up giving in to auto loans since it is the only way we can afford wheels.
