Can’t Wait For You To Come Home

In the neighborhood where my friend Josh grew up he said drugs, weeds and whatever you call it is rampant … even before he started high school he already smoked by the time he finished high school he was what people call a drug addict. From syrups, marijuanas and cocaine … you name it he’s tried it … the sad thing about it is he knew what’s wrong with him but he can’t seem to stop. No, in his own words, he doesn’t have the strength to stop … he cannot deny the strong craving … so day in day out he did everything he can … stealing … robbery … everything just so he can buy whatever he needs to buy to satisfy his craving. He has grown thin, was never able to enroll for college, sunken eyes and cheeks. No longer the cute guy next door, but all that changed after 4 years of misery … at the age of 23 he was admitted for addiction treatment somewhere in Malibu. The location, our support, he’s will to overcome it … made the treatment smooth sailing.

Now we have a totally reformed Josh, healthier than he was 4 years ago, happier than he ever was. He’s gone back to painting and arts … and to writing too, the staff at the local rehabilitation center has been very understanding and kind … making the place an easy environment for him. Can’t wait to see him when he’s treatment’s done … after all the pain he has gone through its high time for him to be with us … the people who cared and loved him the most.

Christmas is just around the corner, can feel the spirit all around me … what with the lil kids at home reminding me of their presents and my friends asking for christmas decorating tips either for their own homes, their classrooms and their offices. I was like what the … am not an interior decorator!!! But that didn’t stop them, so here I am scouring the net for resources to help them out with their dilemmas. The sports fest was held at Cebu Beach Club under the cold november rain … which caused me my migraine, flu and fever … it was fun nonetheless … and though I wasn’t in my bestest … what with no sleep the night before and a raging headache … I still look dashing (wahehehe … so love my own lol!)  These shots were taken from Creeepy One’s camera  … had to grab them from his multiply  so I can have a copy … for memory’s sake.

Josh

The Live Music Capital of the World

Girl Meets Boy

Girl meets Boy. Boy asks Girl out. Girl accepts. Boy asks Girl out again. Girl accepts again. Girl asks Boy out. Boy accepts. So, they start going out regularly. And everybody is happy. This goes on for a very long time. But Boy is mum. He keeps his cards close to his chest. And Girl imagines boy is waiting for the right moment.

Indeed, why do men and women go out with each other for prolonged periods of time with neither direction nor commitment? Well, although or two may be waiting for the right moment, the majority are simply not ready for direction of commitment so they cruise along in a safe, enjoyable and commitment-free relationship until the bubble bursts.

Almost always, it is the woman who gets hurt because it is usually the women who make the most emotional investment in any relationship. And while men can go out with women and enjoy their company for prolonged period of time with little emotional attachment, women are not as emotionally detached and indifferent.

I think that men and women could avoid so much pain in their lives if they treat each other with greater decency. Most of the time, we know when one is falling in love with the other and whether or not these feelings can be reciprocated. I have always believed that it is no sin to spend one’s time with someone who is also enjoying our company. But it is a great sin to continue to spend time with someone we know fully well is falling in love with us or is already in love with us when we know we can never see this person in the same light.

We may cherish this person’s company. But we cannot continue to spend time with this person. We cannot build hopes of someone we know we can never fall for and or grow to love in the same manner. Decency dictates that we must sever the friendship to save the other, greater pain in the future.

Why do men and women go out with each other for prolonged periods of time without direction and commitment? Because it is convenient. And it’s like having your cake and eating it too. It provides intimacy without commitment. Each can walk out anytime with little fuss and guilt. Because when no words are said and no feelings are declared, the relationship is not deemed binding although more descent human beings would beg to disagree.

I think that these kinds of relationship can serve their own purpose at a particular point in time but only when both parties are fully aware of where they stand. After all, when there are no expectations of each other, there is a little cause of pain. But we don’t live in a perfect world where emotions can be programmed. Even spinsters can fall in love on mad, moonlit nights.

that’s the saddest part of being a girl …

Sick Sick Sick

As of writing this post my temperature has gone up to 39 degrees, my nose is stuffy, my head hurts (another migraine) and am just plain tired. Swallowing is hard and eating is such a drag … mom said thats all your fault. Yeah yeah … I know no need to voice that out … hehehe but no regrets I enjoyed what I did yesterday (frolicking in the rain) and now am paying for the price of that short lived bliss.

Oh well … ’twas good while it lasted.

Insurance Plans

Never understood the policies of insurance before and I dont think I ever will, the do’s and dont’s, how it works, the terms and all that stuff. As much as I love reading but reading small printed text on a 5 page insurance plan is just way out of my league. Now this friend of mine … I met her online showed me this site offering affordable life insurance plans.

Affordable in the sense that monthly rates for adults is as low as $3.27 and for children it would be as low as $2.43 and thats per month already. She said she signed up for it for herself, her mom, then for her baby brother as you’ll never know what could happen in the near future. I told her good for you as that insurance plan or that company only operates or caters to people in the US. Wish they’d operate worldwide, I sure would get one right away.

Wishlist

I want an ipod. Hehehe for christmas or for my birthday … whichever comes first. A pink ipod am not sure if there’s one as far as I know its just a black and white … and I dont want nano but the classic ipod video thats 80 gb. Cant imagine what I’ll place on it … my notebook has a hard drive of 80 gigs and its far from being fully occupied despite the many programs installed not to mention the music I have separated on one drive.Was surfing online … doing my online window shopping and I spotted a good deal, there’s an 800 number to call for inquiries, my concern is if they ship internationally. Though I have a postal address in the US but having them ship it there then from there have it ship to me would take sometime. Also a seven for all mankind vivian crop jeans would be good, havent purchased any new jeans lately. Its gonna be a choice between that and a pair of nudie jeans … tough, what with the nudie jeans being on demand as well.

Cufflinks

Someone in my crowd is getting married, yep thats right getting married, tying the knot, whatever you call it. Got an email from a friend asking me if I could attend. Halllleeeerrrr as if Metz is just one cab away … grrr … anyways … this guy we knew since childhood is finally settling down and Lilly is asking me for any gift ideas for him and for the bride.

I was like why me? why ask me what to give them? She said you’ve always been one to look for presents for everybody. So the gift hunting it left to me .. reminded her to go gift hunting for my gift as my birthdays fast approaching and told her I don’t want another bottle of Victoria Secret.

So I scoured the net … yeah I love to shop online in the comforts of my home … using the words groomsmen gift for searching. Was thinking of cufflinks … hmm … being the brat that he is .. was thinking this would do fine. We’ll I still have to email Lilly about that and if she agrees to it then I’ll ask her to select which one.

So Far Out

My thoughts … no my mind is always on a spin. Was thinking my shift is still at 1:30 AM … it was that way the past 4 days so am assuming it has not changed, didn’t check on my sched as well yesterday after my shift ends.

 Had a busy day after shift , from school to home then back to school again just so I can complete my enrollment (I hope its all worth the hassle), then Wafa and I took my tower and monitor to the shop so they can repair it. It’d take a bit of time for it  to get repaired. Bureaucracy and all … hehehe … they’d have the monitor sent to the manufacturer, would take  around a week for them to check on whats wrong would give me the feedback the soonest possible then hopefully we can get it up and running. (Cant afford to waste the router I purchased … hehehe). Don’t like the idea of them poking through my files … my ebooks, my photos (mine and wafa’s), my songs, my stories and all that so I asked for my hard disk … brought it home with me and tucked it safely in my drawer.

 After we left the shop, we went straight to the office, I needed to get my cross stitch frame w/c is occupying our locker (wouldn’t wait for Momie Mier to complain) and to submit the loan form thingy.  On the cab we talked about this and that … the more we talked the more suffocated I’ve become. Work … the hassles at work, the rumors at work, the issues at work, people at work, all about work. And I felt strangled.

So far I haven’t heard anything good maybe am listening with the wrong ear, or maybe the right ear but with the wrong crowd. I dunno … it added to my feeling of ennui and disgust.

Must be the reason why my head is always on a spin when it comes to work. The people around me somehow appear as a blur … whew! Now that’s what I call on a high.

I should have tied my shoelace a long time ago and left without turning back … now don’t think I can … not without doing what I’ve set my heart on to in the interim of my 4th and 6th month.

Starting From Scratch

Dunno what went wrong with the blog but though we can still make posts and readers can still create comments but upon clicking on a specific article instead of showing the entire page for that article it’d give the Error 404, Not Found.

Hahay … so since I cant figure out what to do and am running out of time. I deleted the database that houses the blog and started from scratch. Lost all the comments and some of the posts….

But its a clean start.

Travelling

Traveling, the need to travel is what drives me high as of the moment. I want to go out of the country. I feel that I’m just too bounded by my home. I want to explore, do some things, find myself; maybe find someone in the process. There comes a point in a person’s life where he needs to do some soul-searching. I need to do that, to maintain my focus. The urge is so strong right now. Still I can’t do anything about it yet, unless I finish my degree. That is, IF I can.

That’s why I sometimes envy my colleagues who are so well-traveled. They’ve not only toured our own country, but also traversed through distant lands. As for me, I can only trek around the confines of an air-conditioned building. I know eventually, my time will come. But as of the moment, since I’m still stuck somewhere in the middle, I’m doing my own research of the places I’m planning to visit.

I’m gathering a lot of information with regard to the spots they’ve come across, the transportation, the culture, the ambiance, as well as the hotels they have checked in; which is one thing I’m very particular about.

You can only imagine how taxing it is to stay in a place where you’re not comfortable after a long day’s journey. And of course you don’t want to be compromised by the strangers you meet along the way; encouraging you where to get the nearest shut eye, only to find out it would cost you an arm or a leg.

I’m scoping out hotels cheaper than hotels. Get it? I still want the relief knowing that you’re luggage is safe and you can settle properly. God knows how many miles you’re going to walk the next day.

In this day and age, you need to be vigilant; you need to be secure that you can get value for your money. And if value is what you’re looking for, then I surely recommend you check out hotels in London, hotels in Paris, hotels in Berlin, hotels in Barcelona.

Being an economical person, I can guarantee that you won’t be compromised by the people as well as the service they offer.

I’m saving up for the time that I can achieve my love for going places. So when that time comes, I won’t only enjoy the place I’ve resided temporarily, my mind will also be at ease for spending my hard-earned money wisely!

Whining

Its taken its toll, my lack of sleep that is and my not wearing my glasses. Grrrr … I keep on forgetting it … right now its at home sitting on top of my notebook. My head’s aching … my tummy’s growling … my eyes are about to fall out … am so far out … my heads on a spin again … there’s music in my head … and I just wanna go home.

 

Am at work and truth be told am being ineffective. Am having a hard time understanding customer’s issues, I get lost in the middle of what I have to say. Am tired and am whining.

Global Positioning System

What on earth is GPS? I’ve been hearing these three letters the whole time am taking calls, MS Streets and Trips 2007 with GPS. The whole time I never understood what GPS is, what it stands for, what it means or what it can do. Now my curiosity got the best of me and I googled it while waiting for to completion of music downloads.

GPS or Global Positioning System is a satelilte based navigation system made up of a network of 24 satellites places into orbit by the U.S. Defense. Was originally intended for military applications but sometime in 1980′s the government decided to make available for civilian use.

As its made available for civilian use, many vehicles have GPS devices in them so as to track its whereabout in cases of carknapping and roadside assistance. Motorist with GPS devices can summon help or ask for directions through it. It’s also use to track the whereabouts of a lost pet, can check on the pet’s heart rate and temperature and location. And so on …

Am not sure if my phone has GPS embedded prolly not but there are various shops online selling brand new and used GPS devices at a reasonable price.

All I Want For Christmas Is You

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” … this was blaring on my neighbor’s boombax and it brought a smile to my face. Just remembered someone made so happy coz of this line. Whether it was for real or not it made him smile nonetheless and it brought out the kid in him. Can’t believe am saying this about someone way older than me but am happy seeing him happy. He was skeptical but smiling nonetheless when he showed it to me and I was like, the girl won’t just say that as a joke dude … theres some truth in it. Am a girl (though it took me almost 21 years to finally figure that out) and it’d take every ounce of consideration and mental not to mention emotional analysis before I can utter those words.

Mentioning her name would always bring a smile to his face and the thought that I like her better than anyone else for him made him happy too. Am all out support for this girl though we haven’t been introduced and she doesn’t even know I exist. She’s pretty that I must admit and she gives justice to the word “cute”. Just hope she has a clue that what she said made someone happy and her very presence or her name is enough to make someone smile.

Whew! Getting sentimental? Not really … just plain happy for the romance in the air for a good yet creepy friend.

On An Impulse

One of my many frustrations is understanding computer security and networking. A few of my colleagues are actually taking CISCO classes to satisfy their curiosity of the whole networking and security thingy. There are various schools in my area offering a course on it, accdg to them its per module and its difficult. Huhuhuhu … don’t have any educational background on techy stuff so am sure I’ll experience more than the regular nosebleed. Am still interested though … so interested that I ordered a used cisco
router from DigitalHoops Networks, Inc. as they ship internationally. Going out and scouring the flea market does not have any appeal to me at all especially as I have no clue on the do’s and don’ts in purchasing a router.

Am not sure on what I’ll do with it yet, my desktop is still not working … would probably purchase a new monitor for it but am notebook’s fine. Once my desktop’s up and running would do some experimentation on both computers with the router the moment it gets to me.

An Award and A Meme

Whew! Thanks Vera for the award and for the meme … just love doing meme’s. The meme this time is called the 3 Things I Will Let Go. Hmmm … a bit tough but let me come with the first threeeee..

1. My being a brat – maldita, suplada ug uban pa … just so tough but will make it my birthday resolution (charrrooottt!!!).

2. Coffffeeee – well not really let go but will lessen my intake most probably …

3. My job – scary for others to contemplate but not really for me … just waiting for the right time to hit the road and say bye bye … when I’ve settled what needs to be settled (debts lol!) and emotions some better left unsaid and others need to be expressed.

Operation Gym

Just remembered that both Wafa and I are gaining weight … though hers is the scariest … heheheh she’s getting rounder by the minute and its freaking obvious. Since we were not able to go to school as originally planned to finish my enrollment. We stayed stuck inside Choco Fac for dunno how long then went to Body Tone (a gym) to check on their rates and perks and what nots. While we were there what caught my eye .. dunno if it did Wafa’s was the guy on the treadmill. Heheheh he was not cute or anything but he looked silly on the machine. He was huge, a reminds me of one of those nameless wrestlers, the machine looked so small with him on top of it. Just couldn’t believe he’ll lose weight “walking” on the treadmill. Would have been better if he had the machine accelerated to a faster pace.

What he was doing as so “girly” … Am so bad backbiting someone I dont even know. Heheheh but one of these days Wafa, bokie and I will be doing what he’s doing in the vain hope of losing all the fats we’re cursed to gain.

Living where am currently living doesnt require every home to be furnished with fireplaces, but ever since I was a kid I’ve always wondered what its like to have one. My curiosity is always piqued especially around Christmas when movies of Santa Claus dropping down the chimney to deliver the goods or shall I say presents. Irreplaceable

Got an email earlier containing a file … a wmv file of my friend’s birthday celebration. Reminded me of what Zyle did on her bf’s b-day celebration. Thats another story but this one, the video just proved that Zasha is just so freaking gutsy … I’ve been told through email that her relationship with *Mr. Loser* is going downhill, just couldnt believe that on her birthday when her guests (the whole of senior year) asked her to sing for them she’d sing Irreplaceable and dedicate it to Mr. Loser … whew! she broke up with him in front of the whole class, on her birthday and take note she’s sober. Can’t imagine where she got the strength to do it.
